Adaptive Charging FTW

Sometimes you buy into something and do not necessarily know how good or useful a feature is until you read about it elsewhere. The feature I am referring to is the Adaptive Charging.

Our charging technologies keep your battery healthy for longer.

So this is a good thing because there is an Engineer/Kickstarter entrepreneur campaigning a device that would do something similar for all mobile phones. The catch is that it is an external device you would have to buy for each mobile phone device you wanted to charge simultaneously. Not a big deal since they are not all that expensive. However, it is still a hassle when you will need to have this device on-hand to optimally charge and not degrade your battery.

The Kickstarter campaign is running until 17 Dec 2020. As good as the idea of having an extra device to perform something similar to Xperia's Adaptive Charging I am glad that it is incorporated into the Xperia 1ii. In fact, because it is software and hardware built into the phone it could if necessary be updated (the software) if it needed. I am also not so sure about the claim to "Double the Lifespan of Your Phone".

So, yay for me having picked a new mobile phone with the battery saving feature. I guess I can expect the battery to last longer and maintain a good charge and runtime for the next two or three years. Perhaps I won't have to change the battery like I did for my earlier iPhone 6S+. Speaking of which, I know Apple had introduced an AI (Artificial Intelligence) feature in iOS 13 called Battery Optimised Charging. I hadn't really played or experienced its potential because by that time the battery in my iPhone 6S+ had degraded and I was constantly watching the Battery Health in the Settings to read the Maximum Capacity.

Here are screenshots of the feature as seen in the Sony Xperia 1II settings.
